Top Student Answers #10 : Insights from Nihara—A UoC Molecular Biology Student

In today’s post we’ll be exploring the insights of a Molecular Biology Student from University of Colombo. Nihara of Matara will be responding to our questions in today’s post.

RG : Nihara , What you consider, you have did right in your time as an A level student?

NH : Mainly, I spent my A level time period as valuable as I can. I didn’t waste it by complaining or being angry about the workload, as many students do. I did everything happily. I gained knowledge. I learned many things. So, I have a precious memory of that time .

RG : What would you do differently if you get another chance as an A level student?

NH : Definitely I would choose a different stream. I would choose the Arts stream. (Science Students, Don’t be alarmed! Nihara is just mentioning her love for Exploring everything, as she have explored the Biological Science Stream already) Because I have a passion for Arts ( like singing, dancing and painting ). I gain a different kind of peace from them.

RG : What is the most significant thing you would say for a current aspiring A level student?

NH : Follow your heart. Choose the best path, in which you can give your best. And work for your dream as hard as you can. So even if you fail, you won’t regret it. I do not like to tell the way in which you should study or how many classes you should take or how many hours you should study. Because it will be unique for you.

RG : What single technique or practice have helped you a lot in your journey?

NH : I used to listen to lot of classical music and fantasy music. It actually had a lot of impact on managing my stress levels. After a long hard day, I usually have a little chat with my family. And I always created fantasy stories and wrote them down.  I didn’t have lot of trouble with studying or remembering things ; but anxiety and stress were the challenges for me. So these practices helped me coping with them easily.
