Top Student Answers Series #2 : Discover Rakshanya’s Insights—A Medical Student from UoC

As the succession to the first post of our series, We’ll interview another High Performing Student from the Faculty of Medicine , University of Colombo, in today’s post.

Rakshanya of Batticaloa, a bright student from the East Part of the Country , will answer our Questions today.

RG : Rakshanya , What you consider , you have did right in your time as an A level student?

RK : I have chosen only one class for each subject, and I considered about my level of understanding to choose them.

If I had got any doubts, first I gave my one hundred percent to clear them in my own. Then If I didn’t get them, I would go to my teachers to get help. This helps me to remember the methods and doubts for a long while.

Once, I got low in my Physics mark, my parents and some of my teachers suggested, to join an online paper class. But I didn’t want to spend my time in another class. So, I just modified my studying method and kept it up. For Example : I spent some extra time doing papers.

And I have the most attendance in my school and classes. I think that also helped me, to learn one small, new thing, a day, from both of them.

RG : What would you do differently if you get another chance as an A level student?

RK : I will spend more time doing papers. I haven’t did enough papers. I think that’s the reason for my rank [Rakshanya got the 6th Rank in Batticaloa District]

RG : What is the most significant thing you would say for a current aspiring A level student?

RK : Most important things are self study and self confidence. They will help you in your life path too, not only in your A level.

RG : What single technique or practice have helped you a lot in your journey?

RK : Not the techniques, but just the simple things. I didn’t get exhausted with double or triple classes for each subject. So, that helped me to spend sufficient time on self study, and most importantly, I got enough time to rest my mind and body. It helped me to store more things in my memory.
